DIY Unclogging Methods
There are several things at home that demand the homeowner’s attention, but there are some really annoying and messy ones that require immediate attention. Out of the many irritating issues, one that troubles people the most is the clogged and blocked drains. If the matters are big, they can be best handled by pros. But, when you do not have time to do so and the guests are about to come, you can opt for DIY unclogging methods. Though the DIY unclogging methods are not very easy, you can try out the tips below.
Tip # 1: Put Boiling Water
One of the easiest and quickest ways to flush your drain is to put boiling water in it. Though this method will not entirely unclog your drain or clear the grease from it, it can surely help you temporarily or can help sort out the drain blockage. Put the boiling water with pressure (ensure not to burn yourself) and wait until it is finally drained. Then, flush it with water.
Tip # 2: Use a Plunger
One of the most common methods to handle the blockages and clogs is to use a plunger. Everyone has plungers in their bathrooms but one must know how to wield it. Usually, the plungers are in the form of a cup, which helps you drain your sink or bathtub by plunging away.
Tip # 3: Make Drain Cleaner With Baking Soda
Often, drain cleaners do not work on clogs and blockages. If you do not have time to rush to even the nearest retail store and buy a drain cleaner, you can always make up your own using baking soda and vinegar. Add half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of baking soda in a bowl and mix it well. It will become thick. Then, put it in your drain. But, you need to be careful doing that because it will bubble and fizz. So, ensure to put the mixture carefully and cover it immediately, so that you do not get hurt.
With these DIY tips in mind, we hope you will be able to unclog your blocked drains.
