Charles McCullough shares his knowledge of the wine industry. Then explains why choosing ICF construction was the best option for his family and business. McCullough House Winery is located in Thayer Missouri. We completed this ICF project in 2007.
ICF Construction is a building framework system that provides energy-efficiency, strength & durability with reinforced concrete walls, permanent building insulation and more. The system consists of interlocking foam blocks that serve as a concrete form with reinforcement linking structure built in.
ICF has become a reliable standard for low rise commercial and residential construction with the ever increasing code requirements for energy efficiency and natural disaster resistance.
ICF Construction offers virtually no air leaks, which reduces heating and cooling costs associated with drafts and leaks. Noise absorption is also phenomenal with this type of construction system. ICF walls have minimal acoustic transmission and standard thickness ICF walls frequently produce sound transmission coefficients (STC) between 46 & 50. The strength of ICF walls can be compared as 10x’s stronger than traditional wood framed walls.
